Bucatini with crispy salami and tomatoes-Netmarkers


  • 1/4 lb. thick-cut salami
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • Kosher salt
  • 12 oz. bocconcini
  • 1/4 c. chopped fresh basil
  • 1 lb. bucatini
  • 2 c. crushed tomatoes


  1. Up to the temperature of 350°F, preheat the oven. Boil water in an 8 quart pot of water and season it with salt. As per the instructions given on the packet, cook the pasta. Drain the water but reserve a1/2 cup of it.
  2. Cook salami in a large cast iron skillet for about 5 minutes over medium high heat. Set the salami aside after transferring it to a plate. In the oil remaining from salami, cook the garlic for about 1 minute over medium heat. Season it with ¼ tbsp pepper and ½ tbsp salt after adding crushed tomatoes in the mixture and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Return the pasta to the pot after draining it. Add half of the bocconcini, tomato sauce and half salami to the pot and mix all of them together. With the remaining bocconcini, top it after transferring it back to the skillet. Bake for about 15 minutes till the cheese melts and pasta is heated thoroughly. Serve immediately after garnishing with the basil and remaining salami.
