  1. First melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Cook over moderate heat after adding chopped sweet onion to it and till the onion is lightly brown and softened, stir occasionally for about 5 minutes.
  2. Take ¾ of the minced habanero chile to it and for about a minute, cook it till softened. In a blender, scrape the habanero and onion, add lime juice and cherry preserves to it and till smooth, puree it. To the sauce pan, return the cherry glaze and over moderately high heat, bring it to boil. Add the remaining minced habenero chile to it and stir well. With pepper and sat, season the glaze and to a small bowl, transfer it.
  3. Preheat the broiler and about 8 inches above the heat source, position a rack. With pepper and salt, season the chicken wings all over. Over moderately high heat, grill it for about 20 minutes till crispy and lightly charred.
  4. Take a large bowl and transfer the chicken wings to it and with 1/3 of cherry glaze, toss it. To the grill, return the wings and cook for about 2 minutes tuning once till caramelized and sticky.
  5. To the bowl, return the chicken wings and with another 1/3 of cherry glaze, toss it. To a serving platter, transfer the glazed chicken and with the remaining glaze on the side, serve it.
