Controversy of FDA approval

Aspire Assist has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on the condition that only the people over the age of 22 years and having BMI between 35-55 could use this machine. One more condition is there according to which those having eating disorder should not use this machine. But the decision has raised serious concerns and the critics have raised number of questions about this. The head of National Obesity Forum, Tam Fry has called the machine “vomit on demand”. Controversies regarding the study of FDA that ran for a year are also there. People are warned by the FDA themselves of the potential risks of the machine like possible infections while application and removal of pump, leakage during the process of pumping, bleeding etc.
